The right routine
The first cool breezes gently herald the return to our daily routine. It's also the perfect time to explore a new hair care routine tailored to our locks. How can we discover this perfect hair care routine? Does it even exist? I'd be inclined to say yes, but it varies from person to person. Our hair has a unique nature: straight, curly, fine, thick, and so on. This hair nature is then influenced by various factors such as coloring, bleaching, and frequent use of heat styling tools. Furthermore, our hormones play a crucial role, adding another dimension. From oily scalps to the Sahara Desert, the health of our scalp will have a major impact on our routine.
Where to begin?
As we've often said, shampoo is the foundation. Your primary need or concern (depending on how you look at it) should be addressed by your shampoo/conditioner duo. Damaged hair? Repair. Dry hair? Hydration. Fine hair? Volume. And so on.
I can already hear your first question: what if I have oily hair and dry ends? Don't hesitate to use a clarifying shampoo mixed with a light moisturizing conditioner. There's also a detoxifying mask we really like that detoxifies your scalp and hydrates your ends without weighing your hair down. Also, for oily hair, we recommend using an exfoliator to remove excess sebum.
It's not mandatory to have a shampoo and conditioner from the same line. You could have the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil shampoo and the Urban Moisture conditioner. I'd even go so far as to say that we often switch between different brands for shampoo and conditioner.
If you're unsure which shampoo to choose, we've written an article about it. I recommend taking a look to help you make a more informed decision. Just click here.
Secondly, we deal with
I consider a hair mask an essential part of your basic hair care routine. Personally, since I wash my hair every 5-7 days, I don't use conditioner and only use a shampoo/mask. If you wash your hair twice a week, I recommend using a hair mask every third wash.
How to choose the right one? We often balance the routine by going against the grain of your usual shampoo/conditioner duo. If the shampoo is moisturizing, you'll choose a repairing or strengthening conditioner, and vice versa.

Thirdly, we take care of the towel-dried hair!
The last product I consider important in a basic kit is a good styling cream. This brings us back to your hair's primary need.
Most styling creams offer heat protection, hold , and contain an anti-frizz agent .
When it comes to styling creams, you have two options. This is when you'll need to make your choice. Need help? It will often be similar to the advice you give your shampoo/conditioner.

Afterwards you can treat yourself to some extras. Finishing serum, night serum, texturizing spray... depending on your needs, it's possible to add a few things.

Adding a finishing serum, if you style your hair every morning, will add shine and suppleness. It will eliminate and tame frizz, and also provide heat protection.

Night serum
A night serum is an extra touch of pampering if you like; it will hydrate your hair throughout the night, and you'll wake up with soft, silky locks. It's recommended to apply it to the lengths of your hair and use it about two to three times a week.
